The first 24 hours since the book was published have now past. Unfortionately, I’m unable to determine how many, if any, copies of the book have been sold thus far. Amazon withholds all sales information until four days have passed.
Now is the time for me to start marketing the book though. The main strategy I will apply is PPC through Google AdWords. I buy targeted traffic that I send directly to my Amazon sales page to generate sales. The traffic is send through my Amazon affiliate link. This increases my revenue share for my book sales. It also brings me a percentage of any purchases the traffic may buy while at Amazon.
The affiliate trick brings me $0.798 extra ($19.95 * 0.04) for each book sold. Added to my $9.82 royalty this gives me $10.62 per book, raising my royalty from 49% to 53%. The conversion rate of the sales page is as of yet unknown, however I suspect it will be better than my own sales pages due to Amazon’s perceived credibility. Assuming a 1% conversion rate – 100 visitors to generate 1 sale – my maximum CPC would then be $0.1062. Anything below that cost would give me a profit.
